MY BHRT REGIME

As we age our level of hormones decline.
Fact

One of the most important ways to revitalise our bodies is with hormone replacement therapy. By this I do not mean traditional HRT which was, and is sometimes still used to treat menopausal symptoms. These are not bioidentical hormones. Their molecular structure is different than that made by our bodies. I am talking here about identical hormones.

Although many 'hormone doctors' tout these as natural and without side effects, they are still very much drugs. They are made outside of the body and introduced by pill or cream form. The body makes minute amounts of these hormones at differing times during the day. Suddenly introducing a pill or a cream that may seem low dose can still be too much for the body, and side effects will appear.

However for many, the majority even, by the age of 45 some of their hormones may be so low that even replenishing them crudely with a cream or a gel proves a huge relief and is very beneficial.

The below is my experience with hormones. These are the main hormones that you can replace at the moment.
In the UK it is very difficult to get your hands on these hormones as they are not available without a prescription, if at all. Even bio-identical hormones like Progesterone, Estrogen and even Thyroid are very difficult to get hold of from your GP, unless you have an outstanding one!

My suggestion is to go to a private doctor and get all your hormone levels checked. This will cost you around £600 including the appointment. (see my list of websites for the best Hormone Doctors in the UK) After this you may carry on consulting with them, or track down bio-identical hormones online. If you go to my list of websites you will see such websites that will ship to the UK. You will probably incur duty and shipping charges and this may cost you another £30-£50 more, so place a big order to make it worth it.

For the companies that don't ship to the UK you may set up an address in the US with certain companies such as Reship.com and they will forward goods on to you at a price.

The USA is a fabulous place for getting hold of bio-identical hormones and outstanding supplements. In the UK we are about 20 years behind. If you have any reason to go to the States make sure you buy all the hormones you need for a year!!!
